| ABOUT Million Penny Drive project |
The Million Penny Drive is a student-led project, initiated in 2006 to help alleviate one of the world's most pressing humanitarian problems HIV and AIDS.
Unfortunately HIV/AIDS is one of those issues fraught with conflict and is seen as taboo, thus rarely spoken about especially within the Muslim community. But what we fail to realise is that now more than ever it is seriously affecting our brothers and sisters - not just at the other end of the world but also right here on our doorstep.
The MPD team was established with the aim of starting something significant at the student level. Although we realise it is a huge task and already too late for some, we hope that we can try to make a difference to others with the guidance and help of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. |
